WEL (Water Efficient Landscape) Garden
Address: 9935 Auburn Folsom Rd., Granite Bay 95746
Phone:
(916) 791-2663
Details: From the website... "Features: Deer resistant, shade, perennial, herb, bulb, pond, rose, turf substitute and rock gardens, as well as fire-safe landscaping that features low-maintenance and low-water-use plants. The WEL Garden uses drip irrigation throughout its oak tree-compatible and preservation garden that contains native plants and grasses that provide food for butterflies and hummingbirds. A residential fruit orchard was added in 1999 that demonstrates how like-varieties of fruit trees can be planted close together and how to prune the trees so that they can be maintained and have fruit picked from ground level. Many other exciting improvements are underway, including the addition of residential gardens with varying types of landscape and hardscape, proper water application information and metering demonstrations."
